Please note, MANDATORY Pre-Trip Meeting: Wednesday, May 17th, 2023 6:30-8pm @ Oakland BAWT Gear Library (1100 57th Ave., Oakland, CA 94621) Welcome to your Frontcountry Leadership Training (FLT)! The FLT is an entry-level course covers all the basic skills you will need to successfully take youth on car-camping based overnight trips. Skills covered include: camping safety, day-hiking, tent and stove-set up, clothing requirements, nutrition, and team building activities. All learning is experiential. The course itself is an two-day, one night overnight Saturday-Sunday camping trip in the east bay, plus a mandatory pre-trip meeting on the Wednesday evening before the trip.
